Important safety information

Compounded oxytocin nasal spray is a prescription medication that is not FDA-approved for relationship, mood, anxiety or sexual health use. It has not been evaluated by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality.

Do not use if you

  • Are pregnant, could be pregnant, or are breastfeeding (unless directed by your clinician)
  • Have had an allergic reaction to oxytocin
  • Have a history of low sodium or a condition affecting water balance, unless your provider approves

Possible side effects

Nasal irritation, runny nose, watery eyes and headache have been reported. Seek urgent care for severe headache, confusion, fainting, a racing or irregular heartbeat, or signs of an allergic reaction.

Interactions

Tell your provider about all medications and supplements, especially those affecting fluid balance (such as desmopressin) and decongestants.
